SLM "BALLADA" - INFORMATION
SLM "Ballada" (Literary and Musical Society) has been a cultural and creative
group associating artists, performers and fans of ballad, lyrical song, sung
poetry and similar musical and literary forms. The aim of the Society is to
support, develop and disseminate creative, lyrical musicianship including,
especially, ballads.
In line with provisions of its bye-laws, SLM "Ballada" has specialised in organising various forms of events (concerts, meetings with authors, competitions, reviews and festivals) to promote broadly understood lyrical song. In its activity it co-operates, on the one hand, with a number of artists representing this domain and, on the other hand, with clubs, promoters of events, media as well as national and local-level institutions. Holding the OPPA – International Bard Festival – annually, in November, has been the key event in the Association’s calendar of projects.
SLM "Ballada" has been involved, among other things, in agency, recording and publishing activities, both for its members and for general milieu of artists representing lyrical song. Any interested persons, including, in particular, artists and event promoters, are kindly invited to co-operate with us.
